Her break into the media industry started at age 18, when she completed service one summer as interim public affairs coordinator and announcer for AM station WSMY in Weldon, North Carolina. With determination and a relentless drive for success during her college years, she worked as an associate television news producer and general assignment reporter intern for ABC affiliate WTVD in Durham, North Carolina at age 19. Through their support, she later while still in college, hit the ground running as an associate news producer and news producer for FOX affiliate WGHP in High Point, North Carolina for three years and later worked for CBS affiliate WFMY in Greensboro, North Carolina. Upon offers to stay, she decided to complete her mass communications degree at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and branch out on her own for a while to strengthen her business savoir-faire in public relations and law through paralegal work and underwriting.
